The Teaser of the Grease Prequel Series Promises a Nostalgic Ride With Wild Drama

The original girl gang is coming back to Rydell High! Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies is one of the most highly anticipated series of this brand new year, and is finally scheduled to premiere on the 6th of April on the streaming platform Paramount+. With 10 episodes, the new show is inspired by the iconic original Grease movie from 1978. During the recent Television Critics Association panels, Paramount+ released a teaser trailer of the show, and as expected, it didn’t disappoint!

The Teaser

The teaser trailer of the new prequel series kicks off with the ringing of a school bell while a new exciting version of the Grease theme song plays in the background. Assistant principal McGee of Rydell High, played by Jackie Hoffman, tells the girl gang to be cautious while associating with someone, as reputation is all that a girl has. In this new series, the Pink Ladies of Rydell High are played by Cheyenne Isabel Wells, Marisa Davila, Tricia Fukuhara, and Ari Notartomaso. In the teaser, we hear Jane (played by Davila) telling her gal pals that maybe sometimes, it’s necessary to be bad to do some good. And we know instantly that the girl gang is back with a bang!

The Expectation

According to an official announcement, the series will be set four years before the original film. Throughout the 10 episodes, viewers will experience the evolution of the Pink Ladies of Rydell High, a group of four outspoken high school girls made popular by Frenchy and Rizzo, played respectively by Didi Conn and Stockard Channing. Evoking the nostalgia of the original ‘70s film, this new Grease will clearly include plenty of singing and dancing, iconic fashion moments, swooning romance, and of course, an occasional fight or two by the rebellious gang. And as Davila’s Jane promises in the teaser, things are going to get wild!
